FISH TAVERN LAMPI

Been thereRestaurant

A fish taverna on coloured pebbles

In brief

At Lampi beach on the northern tip of Patmos, with tables set directly on the island's famous coloured pebbles. It opened as a cafe in the late 1950s and the same family still runs it; the fish comes from their own boat and the vegetables from their garden. The saganaki, flambéed at the table by the lady of the house, is the signature.

Compiled from public sources — not my own note.

Good to know

  • Nine or ten kilometres from Skala — you'll need a car or scooter.
  • Lunch by the water is the point of it.
  • There are similarly named tavernas on the same beach, so take care not to mix them up.
