Time Out Market Lisbon
A food hall where critics pick the stalls
In brief
It fills half of the old market hall at Cais do Sodré; the other half is still a working fish and vegetable market in the mornings. Stalls are chosen by the city guide's critics rather than by whoever pays the rent — twenty-six restaurants, eight bars and a few kiosks, including corners run by Michelin-starred chefs.
Compiled from public sources — not my own note.
Good to know
- No reservations — you order at the stalls and find a seat at the communal tables.
- Tables fill completely between one and three and again between eight and ten — earlier or later is calmer.
- Payment is contactless throughout.
